The protagonist, Yoo Hobin, is a scrawny, pathetic high school student at the very bottom of the school hierarchy, suffering daily bullying from classroom tyrants. Everything changes when he accidentally livestreams an embarrassing fight with a classmate, which unexpectedly goes viral and earns him money. Driven by financial desperate need and a desire to fight back, Hobin stumbles upon a mysterious, anonymous YouTube channel that teaches "how to fight." Watching him self-teach combat techniques, upload his real-life fights to the internet, and climb his way up completely hooked me.

Unlike Teenage Mercenary where the protagonist possesses top-tier mercenary skills right away, Hobin starts at absolute rock bottom. In my opinion, this setup feels much more realistic and grounded. Because school violence is such a pervasive societal issue today, watching a completely ordinary, weak student stand up for himself provides a far deeper sense of catharsis and emotional investment for many readers.

2. What I Loved Most: Grit, Struggle, and True Effort

My personal favorite aspect of this webtoon was watching Hobin's relentless effort to overcome adversity. Personally, seeing the narrative drift away from its grounded school-fighting roots into an international crime drama felt somewhat disconnected from what I originally loved about the series.

Despite my personal reservations about the later scaling, there is no denying how massively successful this franchise is. It gained such immense popularity internationally that it even received a Japanese media adaptation, which I think speaks volumes about how captivating its core concept truly is.
