As someone who has been closely following this author's incredible talent for action ever since his previous hit, Tough Guy (쎈놈), my expectations were high, and the action here takes things to an entirely different dimension. To be completely honest, my personal favorite aspect of this webtoon is how brilliantly it utilizes the classic motif of Journey to the West. While I must admit that the later chapters suffer from severe "brain-fading" power creep, and the forced inclusion of trendy games like PUBG (Battlegrounds) felt quite disappointing, the sheer, unimaginable scale and explosive action make it an unforgettable rollercoaster.

As a long-time fan who loved the action in Tough Guy, the absolute greatest strength of this webtoon is its combat choreography. The author pushes the scrolling format to its absolute limit, utilizing extreme perspectives and fluid, dynamic movements that make you feel the impact of every single strike. The action is so overwhelmingly fun that it compensates for almost all of the narrative hiccups.
2. A Brilliant Reimagining of Journey to the West
In my personal experience, the way this webtoon incorporates the lore of Journey to the West is nothing short of brilliant. Taking the legendary Monkey King and seamlessly blending those mythological elements into a modern high school martial arts tournament provided an incredible sense of scale and awe. The payoff of these mythological foreshadowings is genuinely impressive.
3. The Flaws: Power Creep and Disappointing PUBG Elements
To be completely objective about my personal experience, the webtoon stumbles in its later half. As the scale grows out of control, the story suffers from severe, exhausting power creep (often referred to as noe-jeol). Furthermore, the author excessively utilized trendy motifs at the time—specifically elements from PUBG (Battlegrounds). This felt incredibly out of place, breaking my immersion and standing out as a deeply disappointing limitation in handling such a massive plot.
